10-Minute Consultation

The overall framework of group sessions is more or

less similar to that of individual sessions. However, the

biggest difference is of the presence of other people

in the room along with you. 

There could be multiple reasons for bringing multiple (most times unrelated/unfamiliar) individuals to come together for therapy. Sometimes, we choose a theme and invite people to join the group if the theme resonates with them; at other times, an organization or group might approach us for a common issue that they might feel the need to work on.

Group therapy has been found to be very effective for a number of reasons.

It helps participants see that they are not alone and that others are dealing with similar issues. An environment of trust and safety in the group helps people to share their feelings openly and also to inculcate empathy. Working on common themes with others helps one learn new perspectives and coping mechanisms. The group environment is also great for practicing new social behaviors and skills that are challenging in a real-world setting.
